AboutHistory Approach Investment Criteria Contact Us |
History In the early 1980's, our partners began investing in leading start-ups across the nation while at Continental Illinois Venture Capital. In the early 1990's, our partners purchased the venture assets from the Continental Bank and formed Prairie Capital. In the mid-1990's, we formed Portage Venture Partners and added a strategic fund-of-funds to establish a network of affiliated venture groups across the US. In 2001, we refocused our activities on the Midwest and formally established a joint venture with Draper Fisher Jurvetson to establish a formal global presence By 2006, we had established offices in 34 offices around the world and a network of over 120 venture capitalists and 1,000 portfolio companies. Offices include Menlo Park, Boston, Chicago, Seattle, Shanghai, Sydney, Moscow and many other locations across the US, Europe and Asia. We will continue to innovate and to bring global resources to our local efforts.
